Program

Georg Friedrich Händel - Four Coronation Anthems

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Krönungs-Messe

Antonio Vivaldi - Gloria

The EOV celebrated Geert Broeksteeg's thirtyfive years as conductor with a sparkling anniversary performance. The programme featured two true crown jewels of the Baroque: Handel's impressive Four Coronation Anthems and Vivaldi's jubilant Gloria. Mozart's Krönungsmesse, with its compelling melodies and lively choral parts, completed the programme. A festive programme that radiates grandeur, joy and inspiration.

The performance was carried by a magnificent quartet of soloists: Margreet Rietveld (soprano), Esther Kuiper (alto), Leon van Liere (tenor) and Berend Eijkhout (bass). Dirk Luijmes played the organ and the whole was accompanied by the Holland Symphony Orchestra. A special evening full of majestic sounds, in which choir, orchestra and soloists together put a musical crown on the work of three decades of conducting.
